This paper reports the result of a trial application of sound absorption characteristics measurement method using ensemble averaging technique (EA method, for short) onto liquid water. In our previous papers, we showed the stability as well as the reproducibility of EA method through measurements of sound absorption characteristics of various building materials at various rooms including several reverberation rooms. In this paper, to show further applicability of EA method, ensemble averaged surface normal impedance and corresponding absorption coefficient of liquid water are measured in a reverberation room and measured results are validated by comparing with theoretical values. The papers provides detailed procedure of EA method measurement and it shows the broad applicability of EA method as a sound absorption measurement method especially for the purpose of supplying boundary conditions of computational room acoustics simulations.
