The study recognizes individual characteristics such as built up area, tier levels of cities, road networks and vehicular traffic volume reflecting over the increasing levels of noise pollution in that particular city. Findings include surprising facts such as noise levels during non-working days are observed to be much higher when compared with the levels of working day. Also, noise levels during night time were found to be higher than day time on non-working days in Mumbai city.
