The anisotropic behaviour of the material can be understood with the knowledge of ultrasonic velocity because the velocity is related to the second-order elastic constants. So, here we have calculated higher order elastic constants for ternary compound using simple interaction potential model. The temperature dependent velocities of ultrasonic waves at different orientations of propagation with unique axis are evaluated using the second order elastic constants. Anomalous behavior of orientation dependent ultrasonic velocities in ternary compound is observed due to the combined effect of second-order elastic constants and relaxation time. The present study along with known properties opens a new dimension for further research.
