The T-wave in (Electrocardiogram) ECG signal results from the current generated during rapid re-polarization of the heart ventricles. The independent detection of T-wave is required as during myocardial ischemia, the first significant change in ECG signal is being observed in T-wave followed by changes in other waves like P-wave, QRS complex of ECG signal. To save a person from cardiac arrest, T-wave has to be detected at earliest. In this paper, an effective and novel algorithm for accurate detection of T-wave is proposed. A novel fusion algorithm is suggested for the accurate detection of T-wave by combining the independent detection of T- wave and T- wave obtained through detection of QRS complex. The algorithm is validated on all the signals of QT database taken from physionet.org. Algorithm performs reasonably well even for the signals highly corrupted with noise, these noises are generated by adding the power line interference, electrode motion artifact, baseline wandering interference and muscle artifact to all the signals of QT database.
