Acoustical comfort of the acoustically critical spaces is coming up as important aspect of the designing these days. Unlike in the past where it was achieved with the mere retrofitting after the acoustic discomfort arrives. Spaces like auditorium, meeting and conference rooms, etc. are critical spaces from the acoustical comfort perspective. Identifying such spaces and addressing the acoustic challenges right at the designing stage is beneficial in many ways. It gives advantage in terms of better acoustic quality, avoiding un-necessary retrofitting, and many more issues arriving out of it. It can also save a lot of money by optimizing the acoustic design and avoiding overdesigning which is very common. This paper deals with the similar study where optimization of acoustical design of one of the spaces in the Sardar Patel Stadium was carried out in order to achieve acoustical comfort as well as value engineering. The press conference room with the capacity of 300 seats is designed for upcoming Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium in Motera, Gujarat. The acoustical designing of the press conference room has been done by performing parametric analysis. The qualitative analysis was carried out by using the acoustical modelling program, ODEON. Reverberation Time of the Press Conference Room is analysed for various design options. The results obtained by numerical simulation ODEON for Reverberation Time are compared and analysed to attend the best acoustical quality for the Conference Room.
