Abstract : In recent days industries are equipped with various mechanical equipment in response to immense technological and industrial developments. Industries which is located near residential neighborhoods leads to serious environmental and health problems. . In this study, natural fiber reinforced composite panels undergo perforation using a tapping machine. The mechanical and acoustic properties of these perforated panels as related to perforation rate and perforation depth are evaluated in terms of compression strength , sound absorption coefficient and transmission loss. This study reveals the comparison between sound absorption coefficient and transmission loss index of absorption panel using natural fiber as the filler with and without perforated panels were studied. Experimental data obtained using impedance tube test method were compared with data from numerical simulation. Experimental results shows that applying the perforation process enhances the composite panel with greater load absorption and better sound absorption at frequencies ranges from 1000 to 6400 Hz.
