The densities, viscosities and speed of sound have been measured over the whole composition range for the binary mixtures (Propylene Glycol with Dimethyl Malonate) at several temperatures (303.15K, 308.15K, and 313.15K) along with the properties of pure components. The adiabatic compressibility(βa), intermolecular free length(Lf), acoustic impedance(Z), Gibb’s free energy(ΔG), internal pressure (πi), available volume (Va), molar sound velocity (R),relaxation time(τ), interaction parameter(ᵡ) for the binary system at the above mentioned temperatures, were calculated. The results have been used qualitatively to explain the molecular interaction between the components of binary mixtures. Further, the results are supported by FTIR spectra.
