Acoustic quality of urban environment has been affected to a large extent due to various reasons. The reasons are,Rapid industrialization, Incessant Urbanization, Advancement in transportation services, Increase in population & massive migration of rual population to urban areas, Emerging Technologies, Concentration of economic/cultural/social/political activities. In developing country like India with the vehicle population increasing at an alarming rate, the residents of cities are experiencing severe environmental problems that results from road traffic in particular from Automobiles. Noise from road traffic/vehicles is a major source of environmental pollution and it has detrimental effects on human beings. Vehicular noise is the most important major source of community noise, especially near an important road with high volume of traffic of any major city. Traffic related noise pollution accounts for nearly two-third of the total noise pollution in an urban area. The present paper, discuss various information to the public and decision makers on noise exposure locally, nationally and internationally. The major objectives of the study are to measure the noise levels in different area of the Delhi. In this work,validation of noise simulation results by comparing the computed results with actual noise measurements will be performed.
