High efficiency noise absorption capacity of different composite material in both audible and ultrasonic range has created its demand in different civil construction, aviation technology, militaries and social life.The acoustical performance of the rice husk- epoxy composites as acoustic material has been measured using EXTECH instruments with a sound absorption coefficients of 0.6-0.8 in frequency range varies from 1Hz-5000Hz and 0.3-0.4 in ultrasonic range. The variation of thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity with different fibre content is found to be satisfying the good insulation characterstics of the order of 10-4. This variation of thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity are found to be decreases with fibre content. The fabricated material has found its application in designing of sound insulating material as well as thermal and electrical insulating material wherever it needs.
