Krishnan Road, New Delhi 110 012, India E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org Abstract Vibration is a frequent problem in family residential units. Common internal sources are machinery, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, elevators and the activities of occupants. External sources include earthquakes, wind, blasting and construction operations and road and rail traffic. This paper addresses vibrations caused by road traffic. This paper also describes the nature and causes of vibrations in residential structures from road transportation and discusses possible new solutions and preventive measures. Recommended vibration limits were discussed, and recommendations also discussed for decreasing the vibrations to a level lower than the threshold of annoyance.
